Dehnasar is a majestic, sacred glacial lake perched precariously on a high mountain ridge dividing the Kullu and Kangra valleys. Far removed from the crowded trails of Prashar or Bhrigu, this trail demands stamina for sharp ridge ascents and rewards you with crystal-clear reflections of snow-crowned peaks.
Expedition Highlights
Loharardi to Marotu Campsite
Ascend along glacial streams and through dense walnut and oak forests to the lush clearing at Marotu.
Marotu to Sari Pass Base / Lakha
Steep ascent traversing alpine grasslands where nomadic shepherd sheep graze. Camp above the clouds.
Summit Dehnasar Lake (4,280m) & Return to Marotu
Early morning push along the knife-edge ridge to reach the sacred frozen tarn of Dehnasar. Soak in the serene stillness before descending.
Marotu to Loharardi & Evening Transit
Gentle downhill hike back to Loharardi village. Vehicle transfer to Bir/Pathankot for return work schedule.
